Community Guidelines

Buddy Up Network is a platform to help persons with disabilities (PWD)  and their caregivers make friends and find love interests / life partners  in a safe, and respectful way. We hold our members accountable for the way they treat each other.

 

Buddy Up Network welcomes everyone who respects the Community Guidelines. Our Community Guidelines help keep our members safe and make it clear what content and conduct is not acceptable (on the app and and offline as well.)

Profile Guidelines

Age

Buddy Up Network is a platform that is operated by adults. This means that you must be of legal age (18+) to operate the platform. Creating a profile that intentionally misrepresents your age is not allowed. We can ask for ID to verify your age. Please note: we will suspend you if we believe you have intentionally misrepresented  your age.

 

Profile Photos (and additional photos)

It is always nice for other users to see your photos. Add a profile picture that represents who you are or who your child/ward is. You may also add additional photos.

 

However, if you are uncomfortable sharing a profile picture, that’s totally fine too - you may leave that field blank. DO NOT enter a picture of a person other than yourself / your child. This is a misrepresentation of who you/ your ward really are and is against our Community Guidelines. Unclothed photos are NOT permitted, including photos which show a bare body waist upwards and photos in swimwear/ underwear.

 

Username

You can use an actual name or a username of your choice. Your username may not:

  • Contain any words or phrases that violate our Community Guidelines(sexually explicit language, profanities, racial/ communal slurs and violence)

  • Contain symbols (e.g. $, *, @,), emojis, numbers, or punctuation

  • If you are a caregiver, the username should be that of your child/ward.

Content and Conduct Guidelines

  • Your public profile (About me section/ username) must not contain any sexually explicit, crude or vulgar language, profanities/ expletives or sexual innuendo.

  • We do not allow using Buddy Up Network for commercial or promotional purposes. We also do not allow the commercial exchange of any activity, content, or services, including attempts to sell, advertise, or buy any content.

 

  • We do not permit nude, sexually explicit, or vulgar content. We also do not allow the commercial exchange of any romantic or sexual activity, content, or services, including attempts to sell, advertise, or buy any sexual content and/ or services.

 

  • We do not allow any content or behavior that would make any individual or group feel harassed, bullied, or targeted. This includes belittling, insulting, or intimidating behavior; making unsolicited comments about someone’s appearance; engaging in emotional abuse; blackmail; repeated unwanted contact; or wishing, encouraging, or praising acts of violence.

 

  • We do not allow any form of child sexual exploitation and abuse, and/or content that sexualizes or endangers children (real or fictional, such as anime, media, text, illustrations, or digital images). This includes any visual depictions or discussions of sexually explicit conduct involving a child. For the purposes of this policy, a child is anyone under the age of 18.

 

  • We do not allow any content that depicts, promotes, glorifies, or assists in activities that could lead to suicide, self-injury, or disordered eating or body image.

 

  • We do not permit violent, graphic, or gory content. This includes descriptions of violence in usernames or profile content, photos containing real or realistic-appearing blood, bodily fluids, or injury, or images depicting guns / weapons of any kind.

 

  • We are a very diverse community. Please be kind, courteous and respectful and avoid negative comments about religion, culture, sexual orientation, disability and gender identity.

NOTE: If at any time, you feel that a user is violating the Community Guidelines, you may block and/or report them.
